CHURCHES IN GUILDFORD

The CU is committed to the local church in Guildford and we strongly encourage all members to prioritise being involved with a bible teaching church in the area. Being involved with the CU is not a replacement for joining a local Church because Church is the primary place for discipleship and growth as a Christian. So please do find a Church you can get stuck into!

We currently have 11 churches on our 'Church Search' with reps from all but a few. These reps are mostly current students but some are general church members.

Even if you are not a fresher this page has information on finding a church.

Emmaus Rd
Reps: James & Caitlin

From their website:

Emmaus Rd is a vibrant community at the heart of the 24-7 Prayer movement, and part of the Boiler Room Network. We centre our lives on Christ through prayer and worship, and seek to make a measurable difference amongst the poor and the lost locally, in Europe and to the ends of the earth. Our vision changes as we seek to be obedient to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We particularly seek God’s guidance at the start of every year, and we factor his direction into our budgeting and strategy. While our vision changes, however, our values do not.

You will be known, grown, supported and challenged, both by our Young Adults team and the many families who will invite you for meals (!), but also quickly make friends and get to join on our mission to transform our community and university. We know God has called you to Surrey for this time – make it count! On the 29th Sept. (Saturday) there will be an additional on-campus church service at 18:30 in Wates House

Grace Church Guildford
Reps: Jon & Lydia

Grace Church Guildford is a lively and active Christian community right in the heart of Guildford town centre. Our desire is to know God, honour Him with our lives and share the Good News of Jesus with Guildford, our nation and overseas. On Sunday mornings we now meet at two sites – 9:30am at Guildford Park and 11am at Chertsey Street. You will be very welcome at either venue. The evening meeting at 6:30pm is at Chertsey Street. Lunches for students are hosted by different families in the church which is a great opportunity to get to know people. Every Wednesday evening is our student group; a chance for the students of the church to get together, have a meal and a chat, then study the Bible and pray in small groups. We would love you to join us!

Guildford Baptist Church (Millmead)
Reps: Sam & Sam

Guildford Baptist Church meet in the heart of town (next to the Britannia pub). We have morning and evening services, with other weekly activities. We’re a diverse bunch with people from very different social, ethnic and spiritual backgrounds. Being more varied poses challenges sometimes, but it also provides amazing opportunities to grow more deeply in our discipleship. Our core conviction is that the essence of who we are, as well as our mission, is not a bunch of programs, but a commitment to a real life together that is rooted in the love of God and love of others in Christ.

Guildford Community Church
Rep: Cassie
GCC is a family church, with a mix of age ranges, and a high commitment to being a community. We are passionate about experiencing more of God's presence and seeking His Kingdom. We believe that God wants us to see His will done 'on earth as in Heaven', and actively seek to bring our lives into line with that. We have weekly Sunday morning meetings, 10.30am at the school, although on the last Sunday of each month we instead meet for breakfast at someone's home. We also have mid-week groups. We meet at Weyfield Primary Academy, School Close, off Woking Road, Guildford
