What We Do
We are a group of students passionate about sharing the Good News of Jesus. Our aim is to give every student on our campus a chance to hear the message and respond. We’re linked with the UCCF, which means we’re part of a network of other university CU’s across the country.
A key part of our mission as a CU is to reach out to those around us. University is a great place to reach out to the people around us who desperately need Jesus in their lives, but it isn’t always easy. CU is one place where we can be equipped to effectively share the incredible Good News that we have, and most importantly to be ongoingly filled with the Holy Spirit that we would see God moving powerfully within us.
“After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”
As a body of Christians together at university we meet together throughout the week to encourage and build up one another. University can be a crazy time where we experience things we may never have experienced before, but it’s great to be around other Christians who are going through those same things who can encourage and support one another. And even better: we are all united in Christ who died for us so that we could have that relationship with him:
“For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11
Having a relationship with Jesus and the hope of everlasting life that comes with it is the most amazing thing, and Jesus encourages us to share this with those around us. As a CU we put on a number of events throughout the year where we give people the opportunity to hear what we believe and to discover Jesus for themselves. God desperately longs for everyone to come to know him, and we do too.
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”
1 Timothy 2:1-4
